I read up on your blog, and can see why you likely stopped, (sorry though if wrong on possibly why) damn, that isn't cool, i am sorry to hear about that, about that site last minute bailing out on a freelanced paid piece you were suppose to be doing for them, that's hell of messed up they did that too you after your hard work, and time spent on it, and bad business practice on there own end.

I would be hell of pissed too, if that were to happen to me.
(well....i have been ripped off once on DA, so i know the feeling, it very much sucks, i felt duped, violated, and F**ked over, made me a bit paranoi who i do business with here)

I pay up front most of the time when i do business, and commissions with people, by first taking/noting over the details, then sending/giving the payment up front once i get there approval, and permission to pay, so they can then start once cash is sent.

Unfortunately, not all people due payments in such a good method, which can lead possible problems, especially if there not reliable, or trustworthy at times.
then issues like delays, dropping out, fraud, or canceling mid way through can happen if the person decides to pull such damn actions lamely. :<

So yeah, Among clean good apples, there's always sour rotting spoiled ones who reek of awfulness to ruin things.
